Award Winners!
We were delighted to have been nominated for two awards at this year’s NODA (National Operatic and Dramatic Association) Awards for the Eastern region. Our Productions of “Bed” by Keith Badham and Harold Liberty, and our Summer School “Is it a Bird?” by Keith Badham were nominated in the Best Drama Category for Bed, and best Youth Production for “Is it a Bird?” by Keith Badham .
The Eastern Region covers the area below, and we are in District 2.
At yesterday’s Gala Awards, we were so proud to have been awarded the prize for “Best Drama” for “Bed”. Sadly, “Is it a Bird?” was not successful this time, but it was an honour to be nominated !
We were delighted to have received this award, but even better than this, our District Representative, Richard, then announced to the crowd of more than 500, that we were also the recipients of the Best Overall production shield in the district! This is the first time we have received this honour, and given our relative size compared to other societies in the district, it is an achievement of which we are all incredibly proud. The awards were presented by Nick Lawrence the NODA president, and Tessa Davis NODA Councillor for the Easter Region to Rachael Bowie our Chair, and to Keith Badham one of the Writer/Directors in “Bed”.
